For those of you that know me, you know I’m an Austin native with a vast network of friends and colleagues. That being said, I have the privilege of hearing about what’s shaking in our beautiful slice of the Texas Hill Country (Lakeway, Bee Cave, Spicewood) and Austin.

I’m actively involved in local organizations, national non-profits and I get to attend lots of corporate-level functions. All of this helps me keep my finger on the pulse of the wonderful place we call home. That means I can give all of my clients the insight they need to choose the right home in the right neighborhood – that perfectly suits their needs – whether they’re new to Austin or they’ve lived here for 25 years!

Big milestones for LTISD

We’re lucky to have some of the most exemplary schools in Austin and the Lake Travis area is no exception. The big news buzzing in LTISD is the opening another elementary school and a new middle school, Bee Cave Middle School. The community has had multiple opportunities to provide input about the re-zoning for these schools and the new boundaries are being finalized. The new attendance zones were recommended to the LTISD board of trustees on April 17.

Lakeway police station up & running

As of April 15th, the beautiful new Lakeway Police Facility was operational. Again, the growth in the Lakeway area has been tremendous and the old police station was not built to handle the population boom we’ve seen in what was once a sleepy, 2-lane highway town. Thanks to the approval of a $20+ million bond, Lakeway was able to build a facility that’s more suited for the community’s needs and continued expansion.

Revitalization of our lakefront lives

We’ve had so much rain. Wow! We might be tired of the rainy days, but it sure has transformed life on Lake Travis. I believe the lake is over 100% full as of this morning. As opposed to this time last year when the lake was in sad shape. Our lakeside businesses that are thriving and homeowners on the water can enjoy boating, water sports and their gorgeous views once again. We can look forward to a spring and summer on an absolutely lovely Lake Travis. Hooray!

New restaurants & businesses

You can look forward to even more dining options and unique hill country fare, because lots of new restaurants are headed our way right now. Plus, some of our local homegrown spots are moving into newer digs. It’s great to see so many businesses thriving. If you haven’t stopped by Oaks at Lakeway in a while, you need to check it out. It has become a go-to shopping destination for dining and entertainment.

What are you excited to see in the Lake Travis area?
